An Artistic Journey

I have included here art from throughout my adult life.  I divided it into several categories.  There are paintings and prints from before I became chemically sensitive.  I  categorized these by media.  There are also drawings and paintings from my new, post Chemical Sensitivity life.  So far, these are all in colored pencil, pencil, watercolor and gouache.  I categorized them by theme, as I felt that this was a more meaningful division than media for these works.  The newest works appear on the home page of the blog before being included in the pages.

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity changed my art practice drastically, initially by severely limiting the media in which I could work. However, the more important shift for me has been in subject matter.  As I have continued on my healing journey from MCS, I have found that my spiritual awareness has grown, and the new work shows these shifts deeply.

The new works, under the pages Transformation – Images From The Artist, and Nature Magic, are mostly in colored pencil, and are from a series I call my Morning Drawing Practice.  I usually spend half an hour to forty-five minutes in the morning drawing.  These journalistic images spring from dreams, healing work, and my emotional experience of the transitions and transformations I encounter as I heal.  As such, many of them are drafts, or studies.  I have, however, gotten such a good response to these images that my intention is to now complete these drawings as finished pieces and offer them for sale, as well as to create larger watercolor works (also for sale) based on the smaller drawings.

Welcome, and I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I do.
